Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) is the annual event held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, focused on promoting sustainable development and addressing global challenges in different fields like energy, water, and environment.
ADSW brings together leaders and experts from around the world to share knowledge and ideas, and to develop solutions to some of the most pressing sustainability issues the world is facing today.
The event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.
ADSW features a wide range of activities including conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and networking opportunities. It is a platform for government officials, business leaders, academics, and other experts to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in sustainability fields.
One of the highlights of the week is the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), which is one of the most important gatherings of international leaders and experts on sustainable energy. The WFES focuses on the latest developments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable transportation.
The International Water Summit (IWS), focused on addressing global water challenges and promoting sustainable water management is also highlighted during this week.
“Zayed Sustainability Prizes”
The ADSW also features “Zayed Sustainabilty Prizes”, a recognition program to honor individuals and organizations who made significant contributions to sustainable development. The “Zayed Future Energy Prize”, for example, recognizes the contributions in sustainable energy.
